Why Trust Is Worth It

Why Trust Is Worth It

Anya and Gael have to trust each other. As acrobats in Cirque du Soleil they sometimes literally put their lives in someone else’s hands. Trust is a confusing thing. It seems so simple, but when you try to pin it down, it can be elusive. I think of the way that my body sits on a surface that’s new to me, unknown. And how my muscles remain tight, anticipating anything, and I’m constantly aware of that surface. Over time, with familiarity, I can relax and start to lean back. For many of us, that initial tension exists so much of the time. We expend so much energy watching, and calculating, trying to predict, reading signals in people, ready for anything to change suddenly. Preparing to be disappointed. So much energy spent. We talk about trust as something you build, as if it is a structure or a thing, but in that building there seems to be something about letting go. And what it affords us is a luxury. It allows us to stop thinking. To stop worrying that someone won’t catch us if we fall, to stop constantly scanning for inconsistencies, to stop wondering how other people act when they are not in our presence. It allows us to relax a part of our minds, so that we can focus on what’s in front of us. And that’s why it’s such a tragedy when it’s broken. A betrayal can make you think of all the other betrayals that are waiting for you in things you haven’t thought of, in people you rely on. And you can feel yourself tightening up–bracing and in the worst cases, you might resolve to trust no one. But, that doesn’t really work. Trust is your relationship to the unknown, what you can’t control. And you can’t control everything. And it’s not all or none. It’s a slow and steady practice of learning about the capacity of the world. And it’s worth it. To keep trying. And it’s not easy.   Anya says that trust is like a fork, not one way, but many ways. Physical, emotional, and maybe something else. I almost imagine trust as these invisible hands that we stretch out into the world, looking for someone to hold on to as we walk into the unknown future.  Anya and Gael began practicing together as friends, and now they are a couple. It took time. So who do you trust? And how can you grow it?

  1. I hate the modern leftist world where any petty, unselfaware competitor in academics or at the work place can butthurt themselves any have anybody fired at anytime.

  2. I share this video with anyone and everyone I know and care about. It should be seen by everyone at one point or another.

  3. I've seen what happens when someone doesn't have trust for anyone, as that would be my father. He has cut so many people out of his life, believing them to have wronged him and refusing to speak to them ever again, including my mother and his own sister, and I always feel like I'm walking on eggshells on the rare occasion that I get to see him. He is a sad, lonely, bitter man with nothing to live for, I feel very sorry for him. We trust others so often in ways we don't really think about, yet are so reluctant in other cases. Any time we ride in a car someone else is driving, we trust them to know how to drive, and any time we are on or around a road we trust the other drivers around us. I find it funny how people are comfortable with that, but are sometimes leery of the two highly trained professional pilots flying a jet they're riding in. Yet we find it so hard to trust others in a relationship. That is what a relationship is, that is the primary component, what it's all about. About each trusting the other, becoming vulnerable. Knowing the other could break their heart, or worse, and trusting them with that. Without trust and vulnerability, a relationship cannot exist – probably why my dad's never done well.

  4. this is officially my absolute favorite video by zefrank. And the best part about it is that I was thought the same thing when I saw acrobats. I always thought "boy I hope someday I find somebody I can trust that much." that is the best example of trust and this video is absolutely stunning.

  5. This is beautiful, both the performance and the talk. Touched parts of me I knew I have to address since my divorce. I focused on growing every other way, than to learn to trust again… Thank you.

  6. The concept that trust is a luxury resonated more then I expected… when you trust someone you actually DON'T have to overthink and worry and thats such an amazing thing to give someone, mental and emotional relaxation/security.

  7. To a believer in Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the future is known. But the greatest future possible can only start at a proper beginning. amen.

Lord Jesus calls us to trust in Him and to follow Him because He is truth. Lord Jesus demonstrated proper and obedient righteousness because He is a righteous Father God Who demands proper and obedient righteousness from us His adopted children who have chosen to follow Him. Good fathers know their children trust them and Lord Jesus is no exception. Hallelujah !

Trust goes hand-in-hand with faith or belief in truth. And faith is ongoing. Belief is continuous. They are the same thing encompassing yesterday, today and tomorrow. Faith and belief are not stagnant and saying you were "saved" yesterday … denies … Lord Jesus' call for faith today and tomorrow. We are being-saved and we will-be-saved when Lord Jesus returns in glory or when Lord Jesus calls one home before that incredible event. Praise God !

The entirety of the Holy Bible does not have to be memorized let alone understood before someone can say they believe in Lord Jesus. Faith in Lord Jesus and His salvation promising eternal life is possible for anyone choosing to follow Him.

There is something beyond this life.

Trust first asks we take a simple step of faith toward Lord Jesus by repenting of all sin which includes proper water-baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins per Acts 2: v38. Admitting your sins and turning from your sins goes hand-in-hand with being able to be cleansed from your sins. And everyone is able to be cleansed from their sins.

We are all made in the image of God from our mothers … but … we only become adopted children of God when we choose to be born again of water and Spirit per John 3: v5 thru v7 which agrees with Acts 2: v38 and many other passages. amen.

Go to a man of God, not a woman of God but a man of God who will submerge you under water in proper water-baptism which means the exact phrase, "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins."

Before you go to that man of God ask him:
What's the difference between titles-baptism and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ ?

If he doesn't know or if he dismisses the difference as nothing; find someone who will water-baptize you correctly.

Titles-baptism: "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit/Ghost for the remission of sins." Titles-baptism is wrong.

Baptism in the name of Jesus: "I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins." Baptism in the name of Jesus is correct.

There are more than 40,000 so-called denominations of Christianity so all of them can't be correct. Lord Jesus was and is and will always be a Jew Who simply said to follow Him. We who are Gentiles can be grafted into the faith [read: Judaism] by being properly born-again of water and Spirit. amen.

Lord Jesus is truth and uses people who talk to other people about His truth. Lord Jesus is Father, Son, Spirit and hundreds of other titles at the same time. And it is only through trust and obedience will we be made aware of Who is Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus is not just a name, He is God Who is fully man with feelings, emotions, anger, jealousy, rage, love, patience, mercy, judgement but above all His traits … Lord Jesus is a righteous God. And in the end a righteous God does for everyone what is right.

Go from only knowing Lord Jesus' mighty name to someone who knows Who is Lord Jesus … by being water-baptized in the name of Jesus.

  8. This is the most amazing channel I've ever found. Each video is unique and spectacular, whether its wise or hilarious or a mix.

  9. When you came for a joke about acrobats but instead got a beautiful message about trust while watching 2 beautifully ripped people doing ripped people things

  10. 98% of the comments: "muscles, ripped blah blah blah, I'm not contributing anything new"

There is an amazing message here. Please whoever gets to my message, disslike those useless comments, and like those who are relevant, the butterfly effect can help us improve the human condition, which is now really bad.

  11. Beautiful…
Frank would be great at narrating a detective story.
"It was a rainy tuesday afternoon when she walked into my office…"

  12. I'm one of those guys who finds athletic women hot as hell but this gal might have over-done it a bit. If it wasn't for the sports bra I'd swear I was looking at two dudes, which I'm not sure if that's weirder or not…

  13. Wow was not expecting this..I was trying to find more of the best funny videos on YouTube but this hits home because I'm going through a breakup and the trust thing brought up alot of emotions about it really great video

  14. Make more videos. I'm slowly losing trust in your ability to upload a video more than once a year. Trust is easier to lose than to build. Much like a waffle tower. Zefrank, don't be a waffle tower.

  15. Listening with intent to the narration, I was waiting and waiting for the humor to begin, anticipating my laughter,.. And when the girl was holding up ol' dude, his head betwixt her legs, his face resting eye to eye with her buff beaver… My posture became erect, I scooched up to the edge of my toliet,.. With glee, I thought,.. Here it comes,.. and as I said to myself, "He would never miss this opportunity to say something hilarious,"… He missed that opportunity to say something hilarious…
    This is how disappointment do.

  17. I discovered you trough True Facts series but these episodes are just amazing. Thank you so much, your verbal talents and smooth voice are an incredible experience.

  18. I enjoy your comedy on this channel but this is by far one of your most memorable videos to me. Thank you for making it.

  19. trust your partner, donโ€™t trust the frog fish…. we need to be given a list when born to know where everyone belongs, just in case we donโ€™t have zefrank nearby to guide us….

  20. This is gorgeous, but I ask that you redo the audio to bring out your voice more. My hearing loss makes it difficult to separate the music and your voice, and captions detract from the visual experience of this video more than most.
