How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur


– This is a video for those of you who want to be entrepreneurs
or for those of you who have started something
that’s just not taking off as fast as you want. Have you ever noticed that
there are some companies that boom, some businesses
that do extremely well and some entrepreneurs who
just stay stuck forever? I’m standing between a
Starbucks on my right and a Starbucks on my left across the street from one another. Why is it that a company can do so well while you have the local coffee shop that is struggling on the corner and I heard a phrase
once that I want to embed into your brain and I’m here to tell you tattoo this on your arm,
put it on your forehead, write it on your mirror
or whatever you have to do and the phrase is this, nothing happens until something is sold. Nothing happens until something is sold. Now, look, we live in this world where we are seeing a ton of
attention about social media and content and building up a following and I’m here to tell
you none of that matters until something is sold. Now, I get pushback on this
because people will say, I don’t really care about making money. I just want to distribute a message. I just want to do x. I just want to be free
and I’m here to tell you that the best way to
do all of those things is to sell something. The only way to sustainably distribute the message that you want
to bring to the world is to sell things because
that makes it predictable and sustainable for you
to spread a message. If you have a product that
you really, really believe in but you feel weird about selling it, I’m here to tell you that the
best thing that you can do for the world is to sell that thing. The best way for you to distribute it out to as many people as possible is for you to be really, really
good at selling that thing. Business and success
goes under two things. It is having a product and it is selling and
distributing that product. That’s it. And if you’re doing all
of this other stuff, you’re complicating it. You’re doing too much. Nothing happens until you sell something and there are strategies
to be able to do that. You can put it on channels
or you can put it on Amazon or you can sell it on the street corner and we could talk about all
kinds of ways to do that but if what you are doing is not directly developing a product and selling things, you’re making it too hard on yourself and too many business
owners have great things, they have great ideas,
they have great brands, they have great products,
they have great messages they wanna bring to the world and they’re missing the two things that will actually make them successful and able to bring their uniqueness and their message to the world that would make the world a better place and that is that they haven’t dialed in what it is that their
product is on how to sell it and the fix for whatever change
you wanna see in the world whether it’s a product or a
message that you wanna bring is to bring that product
to the world and to sell it because nothing happens
until something is sold. Tattoo that on your forehead
because that is the linchpin to being a successful entrepreneur. I don’t know where I’m walking. (calm music)
