Broken Pen speaks on knowing your worth, self-belief and having humility | The Outspoken Podcast

yes yes my people welcome back to the
outspoken podcast episode 9 I am your host and the just rhyme champion and at
8:00 joined by my co-host just name guys and you guys can all call me naive but
before we get to that are you actually gonna keep saying this until I lose the
just round championship then I feel is relevant to stay down there just round
champion oh wow all right let’s continue are you gonna continue saying that
you’re just name every single week when you’ve already said that you’re just
naive initially anyway I’m gonna keep saying it seriously well if people keeps
it like what would you said it what do you say alright the end of our podcast
did he oh yeah you don’t mind it you in it even
though for what have to keep sane enough I’m gonna quote our guest today before
we introduce him a little later running cool that childish oh really that’s
where is similar to what you did my childish listen my is not charged
childish but as as we like I’ve made mentor song bro as we like to do I’m
gonna get my peoples that’s right my peoples involved I’m gonna answer two
questions over to questions from my peoples not yours not your peoples not
your peoples my peoples yeah so we got a question here from up the
summit yeah yeah shout out that the summit in the back you know how we do
and he asked how do you feed your creative side generally regardless of
what field of what you’re in take us away nyeeehhh
yeah for me in terms of my crave side I watch a lot of anime and the artistry
and story works into pretty much every part of work I do to be honest like
that’s how you feed your crave side Yemen but there’s a lot to learn from
enemy I agree like the way a story unfolds yeah and the way I take that and
put that into my own art which is photography for example or videography
and make it make it come out like that that’s how my that’s how I tell my story
I think simply simply for me if I’m asked answering this question on
more general basis I would say dedication feeding your creativity
through dedication why because when you’re actually dedicated to your craft
then you have the desire to make sure that you achieve whatever goals you put
in place for yourself mm-hmm you understand one thing I mean for me
dedication that’s my that’s my key that’s my key we have one more question
here as well and this question is from this case Instagram handle right it’s
underscore H s dot 98 and he asked starting to write poetry how do you stay
away from rhyming couplets and get to longer verses it’s an interesting
question I can’t answer that I mean I I mean I didn’t really start out with
rhyming couplets so I I don’t know if I’m necessarily just for example it’s
like an a/b scheme so aibee aibee aibee there’s no like in interplay there’s no
moti’s and things of that nature it’s pretty straightforward stuff yeah
from for me my my advice to summarizes in as condensed a fashion as possible
would be to challenge yourself to put it simply as that when I started improving
my own writing I just challenged myself at all myself look I gotta get better at
this some of my favorite poets on the scene we’re doing a lot of wordplay this
wasn’t something I was a costume to you I was new to it I was like a baby if you
will and I said to myself look if I want to get to that next level
let me try challenging myself with something I’ve never done before so I
started to incorporate wordplay into my poetry so yeah
challenge yourself this is the outspoken podcast people and this is what’s
happening name what’s happening bro a lot of stuffs been happening a McDonald
actually McDonald’s like McDonald’s is like it’s mad bro no it happens at
McDonald’s on a day-to-day basis is actually crazy
so recently what happenings which is quite which is quite sad in Leicester a
19 year old girl who became homeless unfortunate he was staying outside of
McDonald’s and she was sleeping then and in the morning the staff member
actually took a bucket of war and dumped on her Wow absolutely mad that’s that’s
despicable so but to find out the staff members know just like any staff member
it was the manager this calls McDonald’s that’s been one of those dumped water on
her and she was surprised she was like what was going on why would you do this
no warning no nothing yes the Mack told the actual Macomb
industry was disgusted by this behavior staff members told her told the girl to
report to police not pleased – Wow these soft members at yet – saying yes they
said reports the police noble behavior by the staff Minh City knows the manager
exactly so to start us off – Oh dad the man the police got involved and it is
investigating situation at the moment but I’ve seen madman she just she’s 19
the stories she’s 19 her boyfriend she left us who became homeless after that
well this person actually dump water on her just because she was sleeping
outside the McDonald’s was despicable behavior you have to ask yourself
where’s your humanity is how would you feel if you were the one that was
sleeping outside in the rough in the cold like she said exactly bro like
she’s making out like it was a choice to sleep outside there no she she that’s
presented with a very very difficult situation to deal with it’s nice it’s
actually sad man and I hope things improve for her because that is really
upsetting him and God willing like everything improves her because this
situation like none was after him and there’s a lot of stuff happening Mike
knows one thing we’ve seen as well as that video that was going around with
the whole fight scene broke Wow I don’t have anyone seen it yes that was
insanity you know it was crazy beau in Oxford Street there was a security guard
that going to beef with two young youth in McDonald’s and the whole stuff
actually came to defend the no defender but it came and got involved to get
these two guys are I reckon there’s probably a lot more than meets the eye
with that there was actually there was probably a situation that occurred where
the individuals perhaps were rude to the staff members and lost it and got
involved it seemed from what I could see in the video that something was said
that was very much because the reaction was
the reaction was not what you would expect from a professional but then you
know end up happening it becomes aged know that finger happened with a Benelli
Miller yeah where I remember a guy recording and just laughing now is this
basically same situation happens this guy there who’s recording was laughing
his head off man he was hitting he was saying to the other guy yeah go be him
I’ll go be with the synthesized generation isn’t exactly in with the
sensitizer these sort of things so we we unwillingly at times or or not even
necessarily unwillingly but unconsciously advocate violence because
we’re always so into it when it takes place is that okay these people are
involved in a in an altercation let’s film it the internet needs to see this
no the internet doesn’t need to see what needs to be done is that you should be
trying to stop this altercation taking place of course we’re not gonna go into
details of things when weapons were involved sadly those things are a lot
more of a complicated situation but in a situation like this one it’s definitely
there’s definitely an ability there to help out and aid this this situation
from worsening exactly if you get one thing yeah that’s that’s just my fortune
on that whole occurrence yeah man my thongs man you guys need to fix up yes
Mac no no you need stuff members though what people for no reason like fix I
mean this is the outspoken podcast people and yes last week we had an
amazing discussion with woodsy man we put him on the spot and we asked him
about why no this was two weeks ago actually we had the discussion woodsy
and we asked him about whiteness determining person’s humanity last week
however we had an amazing discussion with Hafsa the beery
about deconstruction deconstructing institutional race every single time
every time it’s not my gimmick isn’t it I have to mess up at least once in the
episode but yeah we were deconstructing institutional racism a bit of a mouthful
it was a really really deep discussion I would advise that you go listen to it
now you will not regret it but today we’ve got another incredible guest an
incredible guest one of my favorite poets he’s joining us in the studio
right now please welcome broken pen how are you it’s a pleasure
welcome to your room so man tell us a little bit about yourself who is broken
pen Samuel King Alexis yeah I’m in every finger yeah I tried not to as much as
everyone asks and you have to be aware I rap today I just I just do two things
and I try to do them well that’s it really
I’m just an artiste keeps new rules of keeping it rule that’s how that’s how we
like to do things you know what it’s amazing that you’re here and we’re
finally having this discussion because I’ve been wanting to get you on the show
for a while how was your journey into the studio it was good still just find a
parking space but yeah man it was combat was calm yesterday was a madness I’m
just like trying to recalibrate just yeah well I lost my weapon weapon
yesterday bro um it was just long time I was just in a whip it was like 11:30 at
night I was in kill but and then I was just sitting in my car anja wasn’t even
on I was just about to I just put my location in ways I was
obviously checking Instagram quickly before I drove off and then someone just
opened my car door what yeah yeah and then obviously like
because I thought was the person who I just dropped off yeah yeah it’s like I
did have react anyway you know kind of just look but obviously the way double
door swung open it’s like did I have that much strength in it so yeah
this is paradise valleys on in it oh I have a 3 or 4 car remember I know it was
definitely more than two yeah behind each other in it and then they had like
crowbars machetes there was obviously the way that a car was yeah
say this is the car I’m sitting down yeah the car that they pulled up in his
like that in it so obviously it slap blocking the door a little bit but you
can still open it yeah and then obviously they open theirs was that
British here from British behind okok I trying to open the other side that a
door in it yeah and in a better open it was a who’s that who’s that and then I
looked in it I was shocked you know and it’s like you know riders there’s more
of them than me in it and they all have weapons in it so I’ll talk about what
could I do so I’ll just froze in it and then the brother looked at me what’s
that oh who’s that and then obviously I just looked at him I did say no and then
he looked at my face here and it was Comic Con and then they just walked
around a car got into this family van and drove off and I was just and what
and maddest thing about it was like two roads down like on the way yeah we saw
police in it yeah that police like two roads down bro when I tell you we’re
down this road two more roads down there is police fam and it’s still active
they do not care it was a bit was a bit of a mad experience in it obviously like
they’re reckless enough to run up on me not knowing yeah I am the guy that
they’re looking for yeah they could they could have done
more in it you know I mean obviously you try not to think about that you get me
just be felt for me running that part that’s it yeah bit it was just a bit mad
that I’m like you know you get mad be fronting if I didn’t say I was shit like
shaken up a bit because obviously not nothing’s let it has ever happened to me
in it yeah obviously like I deal I have friends that you know I’m saying quack
unfortunately were like subjected to this life and did it but I’ve never
really come into contact with anything like that happening to me and he like
I’ve never been really run upon I’ve been stopped in search that once in my
life that basketball shorts on but I was coming from basketball much you know I
mean I had all my stuff in my gym bag so it was like the quickest search ever
yeah do you know I mean I mean yeah but like it was mad
so obviously I’m just recalibrate and you know we just like yeah nothing
happened it’s weird nothing happens to me I
always have my own yeah I mean I don’t I don’t roll around with that vibe of like
I mean I don’t believe your appearance should dictate how people see you I
believe is so vibrant yeah you know I’m saying so it’s like I could be I could
be wearing robes and and like bare like I don’t know like religious
paraphernalia how cool it like but my vibe is off in it so people still be
wary I mean because of the way that I carry myself in it I mean I don’t carry
myself like a bad man yeah I’m saying a well hood than a bandanna yeah but you
don’t see how I carry myself in yeah I’m not intimidating I’m my dad you know so
obviously I was in my wit but when he saw her loud when he looked at my face
clearly so I wasn’t a guy named doctor in it so there’s a bit mad it kind of
makes me feel are ah is it peak wearing a hoodie now it you know I mean you
didn’t then again you get that conversation where they go are like you
should all wear hoods in last supermarkets or shopping centers and
didn’t listen that and then you feeling I rather some fair clothes shouldn’t
dictate my thing but obviously that’s their marker that’s what they looking
for if you’re a brittle that wears a hood and then boom that’s a mistake and
I don’t I’m gonna be me so I’m kind of thinking wha is this hoodie thing worth
it like you know I mean but I don’t wear it because it’s a hoodie away because
this is me family’s a cop yeah when have you seen me at an event without a rare
occasion you know maybe when I have my hair up on a comp put my hoodie on my
flat more time out of 10 I’m on stage of my hoodie bubbler that’s my whole
presence in it so she’s just makes you rethink maybe it’s time to burn the
image but yeah we had this yeah when he was telling me before we commence the
podcast earlier I was gobsmacked man and one of one of
the things that we kind of both agreed on is that God is great lunch oh good
it’s great and you know when it’s not your time to go you’re not gonna go and
clearly you know there’s more things you’ve got to offer us so we’re looking
forward to seeing what you have in store ready to achieve more than ever fam
can’t wait see what you going to store man so a couple weeks ago we had woodsy
on the show and we discussed the advent of flow poets what it means for the
spoken-word scene and of course you’re one of those poets you’re somebody that
is currently one of the most sought-after
artists on the scene in my opinion as well do you think it’s fair for me us to
say that you’re like the default leader of the pack flow or is it more a case of
everyone’s on the same level peg leader cuz I’m a lion
I mean Mike Odom lion king from it’s just I guess some people may seem that
way because I’m on performing in it yeah you do not I mean and like I don’t know
I can’t speak for anyone else in I can only speak for myself but all I know is
I write every day in it and I’m on this thing I spent like what people have to
understand is I spent a majority of my time smoking weed chillin in my house
just like doing this thing because I wanted to do it in it I didn’t
necessarily even have a dream of doing anything with this until I met my
Bridgette in college and even then I was just so high all the time now I’m just
doing this because I’m and I’m are doing this yeah really
like I never deep tit but I was doing it because I liked it but I was doing it
consistently because the mandem were doing it every time we link up
everyone’s got bars I’m like yo I have to have bars from lights you know I said so I wrote bars I start learning the odd
you know I mean I was writing anyway from secondary school because obviously
my favorite lessons English in it because I never grew up in this country
so like grew up in this country but I wasn’t
born here so I came here at a young age and I had to kind of like learn English
and when I when I wasn’t able to communicate all I wanted to do was
communicate so then when I learned English I was our cool this is kind of
hard now so I stuck to that in it and so he’s been a fascination like the words
the way you can express yourself in different ways and blah blah blah so
that was always there so it’s like I’m going through my life creating
foundations when I realize him Jenna I’m saying so when I look back at this
moment where I’m now and I’m like okay everything just pieces it’s like you
never know until you look back in its hindsight it’s very powerful witness oh
you could just look back and be like okay so that’s why this happened and
that’s why that happened who knows but maybe in ten years I’ll look back and go
rod that’s why I didn’t get shift in that car and kill roulette that’s why I
didn’t know if it happened to me that day in engine so yeah but like so so
because of that when I first started performing like and that first feeling
that I’ve got of like yo like people get it to get what I’m trying to say in it
like you know I mean in so many different types of people as well and
it’s not like like just the demographic of people who like a rap or did it I was
I raw like because when I tried to do music or wherever like something was
missing something didn’t fit in it because like I wouldn’t say I’m
completely a music artist in it you know I’m saying so yeah when I started doing
spoken word it’s like everything started gelling and making sense so that feeling
is what made me now start going to places and just performing a performer
performer performing so then the presence is just everywhere in it
because I’m on it bro because I know because I’m trying to get anywhere
because I just enjoy in it you saying and then you progress and you realize
all right how can you do something with this any I can make a change I could
make money I can make like there’s so many things in it and it’s like I don’t
have to divide myself through through my life like I’ve got a work here to do
this and do that that it I can just focus on this and it can just be my life
now I can live this in it yeah yeah cuz of that whole present yeah yeah it just
would seem maybe to the outside looking in that raw like maybe he’s a leader but
you know remember Samuel King was doing flow before anyone as far as I
mean he was there for the first ever flow first of a flow Nate was there I
mean he wasn’t as active but he was there in it you know I mean Nate the
lyricist was there like Kai has been there obviously with Sam in it but he’s
just hasn’t been performing he’s recently started performing but Kai’s
been writing for years so then and then you look at Yasmin Yasmin as well she
she was going hamon and she stopped in it because she had family
responsibilities and I’m saying so she’s at she’s active then you look at Miss
Yankee Miss Yankee holds right and workshops like do you know I mean like
everyone everyone goes ham in their own right in it so what flows done is she
just managed to go like ooh let me give you a lot the space and a room to be
more you in it yes you know I mean so in doing that she’s brought us all together
we’ve become the flow poets and in my opinion there’s no one that’s more than
whatever we just all have different abilities and different skills I’m
saying to me were the same like that flow doesn’t dream me literally toe the
way she treats everyone yeah everyone everyone equally in it you
know I mean if you Lyons yeah opportunity ask everyone should be yeah
yeah yeah and if she’s got a opportunity that specifically fits someone yeah miss
Yankees not like she’s gonna like she’s holds workshops regularly so if there’s
a workshop opportunity it would make more sense that she would run it if
there’s a workshop opportunity for someone to learn to start workshops then
it’s for everyone who’s not already running workshops you get what I’m
saying like everyone everyone gets their help in hand and gets pushed towards
being a better version of themselves in it so I don’t I’m not the front runner
I’m not the leader I’m not live life like if anything it’s
really interesting from where outside looking in perspective to to get an
insight to how things run behind the scenes and that because obviously I
don’t think I’m alone in saying that you’re one of the best lyricist on the
scene as I – earlier run and this brings me to
something interesting our way to ask you actually and that is how you view your
own ability so like how do you look at yourself as a poet and what do you
believe you’ve reached the level you’re aiming for or do you believe there’s a
lot further to go like how good do you believe broken pen is so before I touch
on that I just want to say as well with the flow thing is if right now whoever’s
a flow part right now it doesn’t mean that those that those are the lost of
the flow of the thing is to open up a platform yeah for everyone else to five
in it you do not I mean so it was kind of like the prototype right now and then
everyone’s putting in a certain effort and percentage of their time to make
this thing grow yeah yeah you know I’m saying and the bigger and bigger it gets
the more and more flow will be able to provide a route for other purposes
so yes it’s there for everyone so I don’t think there will ever be a point
where it’s like it’s like it’s that music industry where it’s just like you
have Def Jam and then you got you got you got the other like the artists like
because I will never be it would never be like okay yeah cool
this artists because they’re more popping or do today’s about working at
the end of the day so so it’s about work great at the end of the day thought I
was popping out unprofessionally cellphones off is happened you know we
had it we had to get our guests on once a few weeks ago abdul karim and his
alarm kept going off are you saying how good I think I am or like levels or
whatever if I like I’ve gotten to the point where I can accept the praise now
in it like I do before I like people say you’re good
really because look at the bar I’ve set the bar mad hi bro do you not I mean
like people are understanding it yeah like I don’t like to have these
conversations where I acts like I exclude myself from I could never reach
jay-z’s level or Eminem’s level just because I’m not at the people people
look at it as that because people are more exposed to the public that they are
the best rotas people in their basements right now rapping in their yards in a
ruse rapping right now that are currently better not even I wouldn’t
even say better cuz that’s subjective in it but they’re currently equal to or
have new lyrical sounds or abilities that we’ve never heard before but they
just haven’t got exposure in it you know I’m saying they just haven’t got a
platform to be their minute you’re not saying so so then don’t come and say oh
yeah like I can level jay-z or I’m just as good and then people look down onto
it because they’re like oh but you ain’t got catalog you ain’t got bro I’ve put
listen I’ve personally put at least 40,000 I don’t know math to do the maths
afterwards in it but I can definitely self put 10,000 hours in no 20,000 hours
I could definitely sell put 20,000 hours in possibly 30,000 hours in it like and
when I told you so every day certain days I’ll spend the whole day for out
the whole day just Ryan just write little bits and bobs like I’ve got two
notepads on both phones in it just for bruv like at least a hundred notes
minimum I’ve lost phones yeah BlackBerry’s especially I’ve lost like
two blackberries that had over three thousand bars in it lad you know I’m
saying bars I’ll never get back I’ll never remember but like I write in it
you know I’m saying and I didn’t wake up and I wasn’t able to do metaphors
similes schemes Maltese all of these things living just came to me do not say
like I put in the work I put in you know I’m saying and then you clock you clock
that you’re getting better by one people’s reception and their feedback
but – you also clock that you’re getting better when you do a ting that you
couldn’t do before and you know oh what I can do this though I remember when I
first did a multi and I was a bro I’ve been
waiting for this day boy hello and in the first day I did where am i heading
ever in the hell if I’m ahead of the messenger let me tell him I had when I
did that yeah but I was like yo wow I can do it that fast and then I did what
was the other one was the other multi then I started doing moti’s in it and I
was that frog man Kodomo you talking right a multi now like I know how to do
in it but I tend to not do it because I don’t want to like get into just Maltese
in it like I’ll do a multi when a multi is necessary you know I’m like to learn
when when to do a bit and not like John I mean and then that’s another level of
the Ryan in it so for me it’s constantly evolving in it like for me that the next
aim because I just continually changed the aim because I don’t believe it
stopped so once you stop wait dinner for yeah I believe in constantly getting
better and I don’t believe in the best in it but I believe in trying to be the
best you go I’m saying yeah I don’t believe you’ll ever get there but I
believe you can try to get there and in the trying you would do amazing things
yeah to go I’m saying so you know like we talked about before like aiming for
perfection yeah but if you don’t land on the clouds
yes aiming aiming past sky past the clouds oh yeah you gonna reach the sky
up there anyway – no I’m saying so the next level for me is not writing not
writing down on that paper it’s just I think who was it gets I was watching
gets had an interview with he released his EP at an interview with Jamali Jamal
emaddix and he was like yeah I was in a studio and like my phone died in it and
I didn’t say it the bars in it and then I turn back my phone and I was trying to
remember the bars and I realized that I like I knew the bars and then from then
on I just did the rest of the song in my head so I don’t write bars no more and I
was euros AK only other people that I know
doodads little Wayne and jay-z in it like that I know of like from researcher
so obviously there’s people that can do that in it but to the degree and level
of like being able to score that lack the ability of right in that do not I
mean because it’s hard to remember more II and not write it down yeah because
you have to remember the speed the delivery to everything when you write it
down you have to read it back and all you have to do is remember the the speed
no no you don’t you have to remember the speed because as you’re reading it you
know what it’s supposed to sound like because of the way that it’s written
here so you only have to remember a few little things and you read it back and
then you over and over and over and you memorize it right but to do that without
actually putting it down and physically seeing it back it’s a skill that’s
that’s where I need to get to yeah I can’t put in thirty thousand and then a
more forty thousand haven’t haven’t changed and I’m not going I’m stagnant
continue involve to be I have to be like I don’t know Bob like I have to be
debate I want to be in debates bro yeah like do you know I’m saying but not
for the fact of like I want it for my lap but for the fact that it’s maths in
it I’ve put in this much work and I’ve got out this much example of Rob I want
that to be debate not that me myself I’m sick but the fact that if you separate
that mmm and just put it into the equation of the time that has taken to
get to that point yeah and the drive and a consistency is what you will achieve
and obviously people can argue National ability and that’s the good thing about
the base it’s always gonna be down to opinion yes that’s the beauty of having
an opinion is that subjective you’re free to choose who you think is the best
or who you yeah don’t like or who you do like it cetera box and have a person
that does what you mentioned and he doesn’t necessarily incorporate moti’s
and things of that nature as often as somebody like gets or the other artists
that you mentioned by Ashley bailout unit yeah because I was having
discussion with him once and he said I think it was a group discussion there
was a few other people there was one he was just mentioning the fact that when
it comes to his poems he doesn’t write them down
he doesn’t write them down so it’s just I’ve lived he was like I’ve lived this
mmm this is my experience I’m telling you in my stories why do I need to write
that if you think about it as well you’re writing down words already coming
from your brain from you and then you’re reading it back to yourself doesn’t
memorize it – then say it again yeah so it’s like you’re going it’s like you’re
going like around like say you live here yeah say your house is there and then
you can’t go that way but it’s like a walking like that one of them must
diagrams at school where they have the equations of what those back in or
science even would we make it longer for ourselves but but it’s obviously school
in its the way when you’re in school so we adopt that process and we don’t
realize like we don’t get like like like if you think about how you learned in it
because the way because of the way teachers teach they want to see what’s
going on in your brain sort of told you to write it down so I know this is how
you think right so in order for me to control how you think I need to see on
paper so I can break it down and analyze it and tell you that you’re wrong for
thinking the way that I’m in school yeah sit you down and they’ll be like all
right cool class we’re just gonna have a
free-thinking 30 minutes just go away your mind takes you in it and then try
to relay back through speech so this goes back to now the 40,000 hours in it
you’re in school for about that amount of time in it you know I’m saying so if
you if you’re doing it from your 7 to your 11 like at least maybe once a day
yeah fill out even if it’s 15 minutes or if it’s for 10 minutes or if it’s at for
a class you have a class once a day even if you make an after-school program and
allow people to learn this way give people the option yeah from year 7 to
year 11 by the interim listen obviously it’s not being tried in and I can’t
prove it but using all of my other experiences and a fact that I
gotten better and I could physically prove to you that I’ve got them we can
go back into the archives of my old stuff and I can prove to you that I’ve
gotten so much better than I was before by literally doing and doing and doing
and doing and doing and now I’m at this point so applying that same method to
this type a lesson uh by the end of year eleven people will be right in like that
and the way you will think the process of the way that you think would be so
much more free and so much more clearer to you to yourself because you’re not
writing it and reading it back so way is when you write it down you read it back
you separate it from your self in it did I mean because you read it and it feels
like it’s not you but you know it’s you but like it doesn’t come naturally
you’re not saying you have to memorize it again yeah and then like you know I’m
saying I’ll write a piece like now it doesn’t take me long to memorize it
that’s why I know like I’m heading to that point in it because now like I can
read it you know I’m saying and then like after
like three reads I remembered the alphabet piece I am sure heat in I wrote
it in like two three days yeah and I memorized it by the second week yeah so
I performed it once off my phone and then after that was I’m not Danis again
I don’t perform off my phone and said that to myself I memorize it and when I
first memorize this that’s the same thing I’m saying so if we have that in
schools where they don’t teach that in schools in it so that’s that’s why we
have to now get that’s now why that’s a level if we had those classes that
wouldn’t be a thing that’s become a habit in it where you wherever you write
something down you just like you know whenever you learn something you just
automatically like I near understand otherwise I’m gonna forget and I feel
like because that’s become habit like you said no one’s gonna not know is what
it becomes difficult for people to actually remember like how you said yeah
yeah I mean yeah and I’m surprised like you can do that I’ll be sick one get rid
of your phone how do you how would you go with that process though just go so
wait so ways yeah freestyling is a is an essential part of
years or in it you have to you have to freestyle and then like through
freestyling you build the practice of bringing a boss quickly towards your
head in it and then my memory comes in is you put a beat on and you’ll do line
by line in it yeah so so this is just the rap method then it rap method you
can still apply rap methodology to spoke a word and do the same thing but what
you do in rap is you put B on and this is how jay-z started he’ll put a B on
and then like that’s why his flow is the way isn’t it because he’ll do he’ll put
a B on and record for bars and him put a be on and keep going and then record
maybe two bars and him caught maybe eight bars
yeah yeah and then by the end you have a song Lil Wayne does that as well yeah so
I think it was that tune Lil Wayne did hello new you are good morning New York
or hello LA that what she knows him as laptop in his Mac and they were good in
him and it will record stop and start stopping stuff something start and then
I came up with a banger at the end of it and it was like cuz he did it imparts
he’ll played a pot and then he’ll be listening to the to the part over and
over again in it you see what I’m saying so so then every pot that he had done he
Bret is he’s breaking it down now so when we write a piece will write the
whole piece and try to remember the whole piece that’s a lot of information
to take in but if you’re breaking it down into like four bars four bars after
you repeat like a four bar to yourself like ten times it’s already ingrained
into your brain a little bit more you continue hearing it the more stay in it
yes so that’s like the process of doing it in it and then it’ll get to a point
where it will take less and less less less and less time for it to stick in
your mind in it just as true so then that’s the kind of process that you go
through in it so it’s just like little things like just sit there and don’t
over complicate it just right our eighth bar in your head like back in the days I
were chilling with n88 that’s the one line and then maybe
repeat that line to myself in my head five times then move on to the next line
yeah and then because I’ve repeated the first five lines that’s all that’s gonna
be there so then when I add the second line I’m still gonna have to go over the
first line again but it’s already ingrained in my brain then the second
line I add that to it and then what happens is well is your brain picks up
the flow of how you’re saying him and if you keep that flow consistent it’s now
remembering that as well so it attaches the flow to what you’re saying and then
it goes through that process and then by the end you saw a piece and it’s like
rah didn’t even use a pen for that that’s now that that’s in your brain I
see so the same way you would have read it back and memorized it
you’ve just not taken it out of yourself you just kept it inside in it so that’s
the process in it I’m speaking about visually as well yeah yeah like the way
you look you look sick I’m speaking like as your names broken pen I just feel
like if you ever did this performance you’re like you aren’t even out even
write this you just take a pen out you get a waking snap that planet and the
audience be like yeah I’ll even write this guy’s the whole initiative broke I
don’t mean this pen I’ll just eat it maybe that’s why I named myself it’d be
funny if a rapper came up he could fix pen yeah yo I found broken pens pen and
I could fix pen no we were someone says so someone went up to Nate and ask Nate
the lyricist if he was broken pen in it and then he and then it was over him
what a person he said he’s not said it to him he was like oh I mended pencil this is mended pencil drops um eight
bars right now my pencil was broken by sharpened mended pencil it a broken pen homey Zelena wanted me to be at the
event so he could spare it was called I am NOT Shaheed just listening to the
ting and so he just did another alphabet by he called his I’m not sure he did it
I like to be fair what it was it wasn’t too bad I was sick still I wish I’d been
there but the clips to use go inhabit that reminds me of a funny situation
myself and you and Katya we performed that talent nation yeah it was hilarious
you went there 90 minutes out of the Kremlin yeah yeah so in essence what
happened is his Balkan pen he was getting onstage and he tripped a little
bit yeah it was a pea it was a peak situation here but then I went I went on
a little bit later right and I completely choked on my words not
choked as in that choke from a poetry perspective literally choke yeah I was
like and then after my performance our broken pen don’t worry man I did worse
than us out of line and then your mistake is the thing that people don’t
get some time apart the art of writing is being able to put yourself into a
situation that you haven’t gone from and be able to still translate it to where
people resonate as if it was you that went through it and yeah like that is
skill it still takes a skill that is part of writing in it it’s not always
jump on stage and talk about your life experiences because there’s a degree of
simplicity to that it’s not easy to talk about your experiences or
get up on stage and even shed her so that’s what makes it hard but when it
comes to a writing thing yeah it’s gonna be harder for you to write about
something that you haven’t experienced but you then have to do and get get an
understanding of what that person went through put yourself in that emotion on
purpose do you know I’m saying relate as much as you can to that situation are
you want to write about and is a lot of things that go into it in it which takes
skill and craftsmanship in it which an OT does sick Jeanette I’m saying so to
the point where everyone was hot oh let it pop up like this brother lost his dad
lad you know I’m saying and like um through um obviously being on the
streets and that and like obviously from me knowing you know you can even listen
to it was like Mike it was a golf stage man and then he was that give it up for
broken pen what that one is ready to follow and then they were that is
because a lot of people a lot of people like not to say that you shouldn’t come
on stage and just write about your life because you should it’s very healing and
that’s why a lot of people do it but you should also try to write out of your
comfort zone that’s what expands the scene and and
and makes people look at us as having abilities to do these things because
it’s like rah la Oh rod the right and ability is and this is how you also get
called by sky in and BT and whatever and O’Toole at George the poet and you get
told to write about something because you can relate other than your personal
experience you get one saying when you do that as well you get people used to
note like knowing the fact that I rod this person actually went through this
thing when they do an emotional poem they automatically assume you’ve gone
through this and they start like say like sometimes that you get to the point
where you don’t even want to say that it’s not about you but because it’s just
like you know I mean you’ve already come with a preconceived notion you’re not
I’m saying so it’s like I don’t know maybe I was like a like a scene we need
to you know I’m saying like obviously people do what they want in is this is
my opinion yeah I just feel like we should like that’s why I miss Yankees
workshops are good Gina I’m saying her right and workshops yeah and you write
at workshops myself like I fit like that’s why because you get given prompts
in it even right and with flow as mad like there would the prompts that she
gives you there’s just so like open at it like you you’re gonna come from a
personal angle but the prompts that she gives you for shooter to write in a
certain way that is out of your comfort zone so you can’t always just bring it
back to I had a traumatic experience and I think you go further than yourself in
it so yeah man that’s what elevates yeah that’s why I write writing workshops
like any even let me like oh I still go right but we had one with Rafael Blake
the other day the one that you saw that was it yeah that was right making it so
like there’s not a point that you should ever get to really I’m not gonna go to a
Writing Workshop like what do you mean you’re not gonna go better your writing
skills did you mean you’ve mean even even even jay-z will sit there like he
knows he’s the illest rapper in it but I’m pretty sure he’s not gonna like like
a great like freaking song writers they these people have songwriters as well
you can’t forget like this so they take advice from people do not I’m saying
like it doesn’t matter how especially when you get higher yeah continue to get
better you’re gonna take it more so if those people who are at the highest
point I still listening to people about right and then you should always humble
yourself and be like writers I think I can learn at all times in it definitely
– it’s actually really on point that you said that because I’m having the
discussion recently with some of my close ones as well Bob the poet did and
I’ll say to him like I mentioned to them flow actually the fact that you guys
have these amazing workshop mediums that you have I was saying it’s something
that more of us should do as poets we should meet up have days where we just
sit down together chill and write just challenge each other with different
prompts like you mentioned then just improve your writing skills
yeah me and Pat you did a patch call go call me sometime I’d be like give me a
prompt for prompts in it and I’ll just text him a couple prompts and he just
comes back with like a madness pose out your bra yo give it up proper
he gets mad props from me and the reason I had learned much from is because I
think him as a poet he literally started what performing I think maybe what six
seven months ago maybe something like I say I say realistically he start a
performing like towards the end of last year in it so it hasn’t even been see
what I mean the first thing he performs are Florida yeah the first time he
performed yeah the first time yeah he wanted to be and then and that’s why
that’s why it meets what I’m about to say so much more amazing because he’s
been doing it for that short amount of time and yet you’ll hear some of the
things that he says now a few months later some of the schemes he comes up
with I know that your for you like some people forget that patchy is he’s he’s
he’s a speaker yes I don’t wanna give him that motivate like a tag or whatever
but he’s he’s a wordsmith in his own right and yeah you know I’m saying
before he started doing poetry he he was already like speaking to hos
of 5,000 people and hundreds of people thousands of people in it so you have to
understand he’s got he’s always had the ability they’re in it it’s just going to
poetry events and seeing this other medium of expressing himself has gotten
him on to it check out what I’m saying but he’s always he’s he’s he’s always
been where he is now in it but everyone else is just seeing it she get one say
he’s always been there in it but it’s just like he’s now going through the
process of of like it’s a thing innit but before he looked at it as a thing he
was already doing it he was only doing it all
he flows naturally you know I’m saying like yes weeks he flows that he’s he’s
got he’s got a very very good way of forming his sentences he’s very he’s
very on point he has no filler like even in him just talking as a person he’s got
P EE unlock point evidence and explain down I’m saying so just as that so when
you translate that into poetry remember you wrote a statist recently actually
about what did you say oh yeah yeah he’s on Form just where I’m was evidence of
that and you know and and the thing is right I know he was tired that night and
he came and he still performed well but I know he you know you are busy you want
deep it yeah cuz he’s doing a lot bro this British hot working hardest work in
Mexico constantly putting in work he works for forefront we run a workshop
together he’s he’s constantly a family man do you know I’m saying even in his
busy schedule he finds time to to go out of his mommy’s sisters you know I’m
saying like she’s dad stuff like that like what patchy is is on point like
like you sometimes have to find like yourself telling your children it’s okay
to cheering it you’re now saying but this this guy can run on two hours and
well was weld you know I’m saying you know so it’s like someone who works that
constantly he’s gonna be tired in it but he he’s passionate in it so he’s not
gonna give you a bad show in it you know I’m saying and he will always give you
the reality of it Jeana I’m saying like if he fumbles on
stage or he stumbles or whatever why he’s not gonna give in to that or
whatever and like the show doesn’t die there you know some people were they
fumbled they like a flop so it’s not gonna be sick anymore high energy same
bangles I just wrote this I wrote this yesterday I remember a nail give a
little disclaimer and then booms right back in with a passion is it nothing
about hey do not I mean and yes they believed to do that so yeah Pachi I
expect to see him headline and more shows earlier when we was talking about
the idea of praise being praised by people and how you do with it so I
wanted to know how you regulate yourself I mean how do you stay humble I constantly have this narrative running
in my brain I don’t talk about a lot because I don’t I just don’t talk about
it a lot because I feel I just I’m not I don’t talk about it because I don’t need
anyone’s opinion on it in it you know this is just this is just how I feel I
have a constant narrative in my head running with God yeah so I’m constantly
trying to understand what my Creator wants for me in it you know I’m saying
I’m not perfect I’ll always flop and I’ve always liked you now saying try to
do better but like I always I’m always thinking in it
and even in hindsight even for the future that I’m constantly thinking and
I’m constantly thinking with God in mind in it so I think like like okay someone
got a you’re sick today and then for a second I’ll be like oh
yeah and then I’ll come back to earth and me like I’m say this might sound
childish but I’ll go all the way back to the root and be like I didn’t give
myself life I didn’t do you know I’m saying and I find myself doing now
all the time in it like I can’t help it she’s not I’m saying and and I don’t see
it as a bad thing yes you not mean I see as it’s good that I think like that
because I don’t I now don’t live for your praise in it like I don’t do it so
that I get you don’t yeah yeah like Oh like I need you to be asleep I require
it because for the industry that I mean to progress in the day yeah yeah but
like I know that that will come with the with the getting better and like
relating to people and I’m saying but when you tell me I listen to it accept
it what the praises of mine and I accepted that you’re going raw my
Creator did a good job just see one saying some of them I don’t I don’t do
not I mean any moment I feel that raw like don’t get it twisted I am human and
I will want to be like right yeah I did a good job but I feel like that helps me
like not be an asshole with it like it helps me just stay like I always want to
stay grounded and be like raw like let me remember like I wasn’t born with this
gift I wasn’t like I was born with my
abilities which then honed into my to admire my craft which people then call
the gift or whatever but that’s not a gift the gifts the gifts I believe that
we get isn’t like oh you’re good at this or whatever some things may come more
naturally to us but I believe that it’s a gift to be persistent it’s a bit as a
gift to be disciplined it’s a gift to be consistent it’s a gift to have time to
think this much it’s a gift to be focused Gina I’m saying because there’s
so many things trying to take you away from these gifts and you’re given these
gifts that openly everyone’s given these gifts I don’t think anyone’s given gifts
that other people aren’t given in it we’re given abilities that are different
to others yeah about gifts are these things in it you know I’m saying like
think about we all right she now say we all speak do you know how I mean so for
you to for you to go I’m better at or whatever does it come down to my gift it
comes down to two it doesn’t come down to it comes out of my ability yeah but
the gifts that I’ve been given that we’ve all been given I’ve just used them
differently to someone else someone else you have put their time into doing
something else do something else or better that Gina I’m saying but I’ve put
my I’m into this so I feel like I’ve used
those gifts that I’ve been given to create my to hone my ability in it so
and all of that he’s down to the most high in it like yes madam the most I’ve
done is use them in it that’s the most I’ll take credit for words like it was
presented to me and I used them in it other than that did not I mean no no
you’d like to me you’re not really complimenting me in it you are or you
think you are but you don’t that’s because you’re using your eyes in it do
you know I’m saying Class C the unseen yeah boy you see what I’m saying so what
you mean do you think more people should adopt that kind of mentality um I have
that second IRB rule with you the only reason I think like that is because I
because of the things that I’ve gone through in here and I’ve been humbled in
it nears you know I’m saying like God humbled me firm I gotta knock it down
and I lost all of those gifts in it I lost the ability to use those gifts in
it like I was a point in time where I felt like I didn’t deserve these things
in it so little I literally did nothing like I wasn’t consistent I wasn’t this
below I was like a shell dude I mean I was stripped of everything
I thought I was and I was built back up amazingly I was built back up yeah and
now I can’t go back obviously I might slip back into old
habits of like you know I’m saying like I might be a little bit insensitive here
and I might be a little bit arrogant here might be dead yeah but I can never
ever act like yeah this this this life is like I did I own like I deserve this
yeah do you not I mean like yeah like I should be alive just my personal
business so I don’t believe anyone should adopt this way or whatever like I
don’t believe that I believe everyone should be who they are and who they want
to be and that will let everyone else know around them how how to maneuver
because if we’re all trying to act the same and be the same and adopt the same
level of humbleness or the same level of whatever yeah I don’t even call it being
humble I’m just being how I’m being people all your mood today this is just
words to me family yeah I don’t I don’t like I know what being humble is like
I’m not be humble you think I would love to be
like oh yes sir but I can’t think like that and that’s it you know I’m saying I
just can’t think like that there’s some people that can in it and good for them
buff like you know saying I don’t know what that’s like in it so if someone now
I was to tell someone oh yeah you’re too arrogant you did it one that’s my
opinion yeah – like what’s it gonna do for them
to act how they are not that’s only gonna make them seem like a different
person to me and then I’ll get closer to that person you have to remember things
that are innate to yourself are always gonna want to come out because that’s
who you are in it like it’s the same like toxic relationships when when like
people try to control each other like yeah you’re telling that person to
change and control but you’re not changing that person you’re just you’re
scaring them from being who they are in it and that suppresses but I stood it I
don’t go away yo you can’t get rid of anyone yeah an only suppress them in it
see I’m saying it’s good because what it’s basically one person from what
you’ve seen is that people need to have self-awareness yeah understand who they
are yeah yeah and then just become you rather than sorry but Robert then just
like mimicking or taking on board wherever anyone else just having a
self-awareness and gaining the understanding of who you are yeah I
think it’s a beautiful level of god-consciousness as well half of
yourself obviously everybody is different as you’re entering but
individually I think it’s a beautiful level of god-consciousness because you
have to actually be aware of everything God’s giving you and I just stopped here
for a second and I don’t want it to be interpreted as like I’m some holy I’m
the guy to come to that don’t come to me for that I might be able to quote a
couple Bible verses or whatever I might be able to give like little bit of
historical content or whatever but like this is me fam like this is like I’m not
I will never like boast or whatever look down at anyone because they don’t like
thinking a way that I’m thinking or whatever but I only think like this by
the grace of God in it and by what’s happened in my life in a certain things
have led up to this type of like that full process in it which have made me
who I am in it you know I’m saying so if a person it’s like I don’t even like
using a word arrogant in it like for example me in the eyes of someone
I may talk too much hmm in the eyes of someone did you see I’m saying and that
person is not wrong that person is not wrong yeah that is their tolerance level
and that is where for them I have reached and nothing okay but for
someone else I may not talk enough I may be loud for some people I meet do not
mean so everybody has a different stick of measurement in it you know I’m saying
so it’s just about people should just like yeah like when someone’s being
unapologetically themselves in it I can’t be mad at that innit I may not
like it that’s preference but I can’t ever judge or be mad about that
that’s different when I say that that’s good or bad is me passing judgment now
when I don’t like it that’s preference I don’t like pizza which is not true but
I’m just say for example if I if I don’t like pizza and you tell me to eat here
and then I don’t like him I’m moving all my rights to eat what I don’t like but
then if if you give me a burger and a lap burger and I eat the burger and I’ll
go are raw despair tastes rubbish and then someone needs it and goes it tastes
good just yeah I’m saying that’s not positing judgement on the burger that’s
not saying this burger is to this level of satisfaction to me you see what I’m
saying so it’s different things in it so like this whole like I try to stay away
from words that work and consciousness and then I did it cuz I know how like
wishy-washy and how much of a fad is and how much of a thing is in it you know I
mean I myself have accepted that I don’t know anything I know as much as I know
and I’m just trying to use what I know to get through life make a change do
whatever do not mean but I am by no means like like like the consciousness
guy or the world guy or for anyone to come up to you and go how do you do this
or whatever apart from a skill of writing and whatever I can’t tell you
how to be a good person because I myself I’m still trying to figure that out yeah
do you know I’m saying so being humble is not a thing that I believe is a thing
you can adopt you can’t do that like it so far you are and people see you like
that or you’re not and people don’t see you like that in it
you know I’m saying humble humm to be humble is a personal perspective and
that’s just what I believe is one of wonderful way of look
nothing I’m losing my voice man I told you this morning in it before when we
were speaking about we have a cold so I apologize for that my people but yeah
for me for me personally I just I see I see humility as as a blessing because if
you are talented at something it’s not always easy to be humble about that
especially when you’re in the limelight you know you see sometimes you’re often
see certain celebrities that have the limelight shone on them and sometimes
people are like oh why is that individual so arrogant outside of that
time that they spend one of the cameras on that and because people deal with
things differently so when you see somebody like for example an inspiration
to me is Mohamed Salah because he’s a tremendous position in life you know
this guy’s a well-paid football are very high paid footballer doing campaigns for
Adidas and everywhere else and he’s all over the media especially last year yeah
I went over the media but you know what I mean but he’s still very humble so I
think your perspective on life tends to shape you as well and how you look at
things and your experiences and how you deal with those experiences and I
definitely think that humility is a blessing and you know from a personal
perspective I praise God for that so it’s amazing to hear you just give us a
bit of insight to how you feel in how you deal with that and a lot of people
some people see me as humble some people see me as arrogant I’ve been called
names yes you know I mean that’s I think I tried to uh try my best
like obviously sometimes I flopped but I try my best to not call people names
like you’re arrogant you’re narcissistic or dis your dad yeah because I
understand that that’s my opinion and when I speak it I’m speaking something
on to someone then it might become like that because I’m speaking on to it yes
or my purpose it’s my perspective in it you know I mean you might meet another
person who has the same belief but that still doesn’t mean that it’s right
because like yeah in a mirror card they believe like carrying guns is that this
and that but they’re like these things are debatable like whether they’re right
or wrong but it’s just because the mass I come with carry a weapon so they like
yeah cool carry weapons where where people vote the majority to carry
weapons you see I’m saying man Joey rules it it’s not necessarily true or
false in it you know I’m saying so obviously that’s how all life is
governed but it’s like certain times as well um like
the more people that mean more people that I’m knowing people are less
connected like I told you I’ll come always on it but now I’m finding myself
having less and less and less time in it and certain times are I can’t get back
to messages and Gina I’m saying like and it won’t even be to a thing of like I’m
ignoring or whatever sometimes I’ll read it get distracted forget to go back
because it’s like I said it’s a no as a number of messages and in its like to
reply to everyone else after the data I’ve had it’s mentally draining as well
and then I’m like I don’t want to be half assed when I do stuff okay then
like for me I believe well we’re creatures of habit something
we do continuously and consistently is what we become in it so if I continually
give people half a sphere I hate small talk if I constantly engage in small
yeah every small talk man I mean I like depth finish so I tried to stay away
from small talk then that makes me seem now all is person was person to me
remember it’s nothing against you know some reason was amazing to hear we had
we had a discussion earlier one as well that what to bring to the forefront here
and then it was to do with the importance of organizations looking
after their poets man I want it I want it I want you to to give them I give the
people some insight into that man well that basically a nutshell is is get get
get paid for what you’re worth in it like mmm like you’re so if you look at
that we look at artists are top-tier yeah we look at we look at Drake in it
let’s just see I don’t know how much Drake gets paid in it but no he gets
paid more than a hundred thousand pounds to perform at a place that Wireless in
it because I know six six nine gets paid like a hundred bags minimum Jake’s been
out longer he’s a lot more of a wider fan base than Italy so his fee is gonna
be high right so we’re talking hundreds of thousands of pounds to perform 30
minutes set our set tops yeah our set tops even ten bags is a lot of piece
we can do a lot of stuff with temper here so if you think about that and then
you do you don’t you don’t add like the fact that they’ve got a massive fan base
and you don’t add the fact that they’ve got a massive platform and you get that
person and you and you honestly look at that person yourself here and then you
go wrong right so if Drake sport what he’s been in the
game for 10 years Drake’s put in ten years of work I’ve put in ten years of
work the difference between me and Drake is not that I’m comparing myself to
Drake but just for the example of how people should see themselves yeah in
order to progress right if Drake’s put ten years in enough for
ten years in where that’s where the same time of lack like effort we’ve put into
the young the difference now is Drake will go and have managers will go have
opportunity so this is way is this opportunity and platform yeah so he’ll
have the opportunity and a platform and then that will allow him to grow we only
like or get the opportunity and platform here and there when we’re coming up
right so there’s a separation and this thinking of that ralick because Drake is
Drake and we put this all behind all of them and we go raw like and that that’s
what I guess that’s what keeps it at the fact that people can get paid so much to
do stuff the whole exclusivity thing and the fact that there’s not bear artists
to pick from it’s not that does not bear ice to pick from the artists are there
but it’s just they’re not gonna put everyone on because then the money thins
out and it goes out evenly but they don’t want evenly in it you know I’m
saying they wanna pay certain people to hire in it yeah that’s the game call we
have to play the game right so if you miss if you message me and you ask me to
do a show like I’m gonna tell you my fee in it and I’m gonna tell you my feel of
what I’m worth let’s say theoretically our charge of thousand pounds here for
me to come to your show and do a 10-minute set it’s a thousand pounds
that’s like a hundred pound a minute yeah Drake will come to your set and do
30 minutes for 400,000 power 300,000 pounds I’ll plant do muscle now right
now but I know that’s more than I’ve asked for but we’re both
artists and would yeah would given out different types of content and different
work but I’m still an artist I’m still on this thing but I just haven’t got the
the fan base and exposure that he has yeah if I was exposed to the same mass
audience I could do a thing too anyone can do a thing like van illa ice may
Pease MC Hammer made peace I think Milli Vanilli I could keep dropping names of
of people obviously it’s all opinion but who people think I’m like mediocre
artists that have made millions of pounds literally just because the injury
said you know these are the people that you’re allowed to pick from and look at
how many people there are in the world there are billions of people so if these
are the only type of people we can pick form obviously everyone’s gonna divide
because they have tastes and different tastes so everyone’s gonna make peace
that is being put in front of the eye and it just you I’m saying so if you
message me now like when I first started I got like a message Arjuna perform here
for five minutes how much does your fee and like this is like what like a year
we’re not like that no no there’s a couple months in and
like nine months I say and then I’m thinking raw raw should I say fifty
pound I’m all sweating about saying fifty pound fell like sweating whoa like
knowing these times throughout this whole year I’ve spent more than a grand
travelling a hundred percent more than a grand in it traveling going outside
London going there and back by a food while I’m out that you know I’m saying
like roll is paying tickets to get into them perform like it’s a lot of money
that has gone behind me trying to like perform and like make something of
myself do you see what I’m saying so then why is it arrogant of me or why is
it weird of me to then calculate that or equate that and go raw I deserve this
much back if they’re man I dare and they’ve had a team and they’ve got that
much help and yeah they’ve put in work as well let me not take away from them
no he’s Who am I to say they don’t deserve what they get they do but but at
the end of the day I also deserve in it do you know I mean and it took me a
while to even think that I deserved because I was coming from
the mindset of being too humble right and this is where I was just like afraid
of any judgment at all Jin I mean I just want everyone to like me but it’s not
about whether you like me or not you do like me because you’ve emailed exactly I
haven’t sought you out you’ve asked me to come to your event and then you’re
telling me ah can you perform because budgets this and that is it ticketed yes
is there a nonprofit organization yes may I may understand how oh because so
it’s not a registered nonprofit organization you just call it an NGO and
then obviously you know I’ve got good nature so then I’m just gonna be like
yeah cool because I like performing as well do you see what I’m saying so it’s
like sort of set yourself a mark in it and I remember as being mentored and I
was told like rah for the show that holiday means it’s like I would charge
400 pound for that for that five minutes and I was at wrong what and then I even
went against the advice I was given an outside I was at 300 and all shook they
took bear long to reply and then um all of these figures is where I make it up
I’m not getting gay yeah but I was shook when he replied in it no sir
ah like they were like yeah cool calm obviously the event didn’t end up
happening in court whatever so I didn’t actually get to experience that and then
the next time I was in an event and the guy was that how much you charge and I
was at 150 but I was shook when I said it I think he heard hear my voice we
were talking on the phone he knows that cool he wanted me to write
a piece and perform the piece so any no other normal person that’s been in this
for time will know that it take like did like they’re paying for two separate
things in it so he charged them for two separate things didn’t yeah I was just
like 150 in it you know I mean I thought I was bad yeah because I’m gonna pay you
four bills so he was a hunger pig for bills I was her see ya and then I got
off the phone and I just started deep in my life and then that’s when I had the
four of life raw why am i different to a a
a jay-z or whatever obviously let me know like they’ve had time to get to
where they’re at well so I’m no way comparing myself to a jay-z and where
he’s at now but where where where where they were coming from is well Gina I’m
saying like I like for example who can I give for an example like an artist lack
Hopson Hopson self-made in it when he first started like I guarantee you he
had so many followers on YouTube and such a following yeah that he was at
least getting paid for travel war land you know I’m saying so it’s just like
it’s not it’s not even too much to just ask for travel yes you know I’m saying
obviously ask what you think is correct in it but like I said keep going back to
this I’ve put in 10,000 to 30,000 hours of work yeah yeah of my time time is
work when you go to work you use your time to work to get peace so when you go
to your job and they don’t pay you you don’t go oh please can have them you go
where’s of my money because I gave you my time and I gave you my work I could
have been doing sambel time I could have been honey money somewhere else I could
you know I’m saying so when it comes out to the business side you have to kind of
let go of that hole or whether you like me or don’t like me and then just state
how you feel in it say how you how much you think you’re worth in it
you know I’m saying obviously if you if you’re unreasonable and you look at
where you’re at and then you try ask for 10 bags or did the day you shot yourself
in a for you should have done that you haven’t got a following you haven’t
wherever I’d you know I’m saying so obviously these things come into play
but when you’re doing all right and Gina I’m saying and you’re so after
especially when people email you it’s okay to say your price yeah and you do
with your chest buff and you have confidence
some of them come like for example me I do photography stuff yeah yeah and so I
can relate to when it comes to like when people come to ask you things people
come to ask me photography sessions I feel like when I started out doing
photography because I’ve worked with a few few people when I started out as
well but when I started out for like the flesh probably six months to eight
months yeah five or six maybe even more man came up to me last me do some hungry
stuff yeah okay cool yeah cool and I was in charge the moment
it wasn’t a lot at the moment because I was still going through the whole phase
were like humble he’s like huh I love what I do but I charge this much or that
much shuttle is that ladies are too low that’s too high and I was gonna low I
advice from a lot of people and in regards to pricing I kind of stuff so
what am I think my first job my first job died I did for someone she was tog
Rafi was about fifty quid yeah that was that was just taking photos yes I was
actually my real price in the beginning 50 quid doing photos and editing yeah
and those lucky said there are two different exactly and I put that on one
rice I did that Janna I put they put the working give the for not gonna stuff
yeah and then I realized I was like I realize after talking this one the
barbecue seaweed charges as well like a bite like a bag you know I mean so like
well people charged in like my thousand pounds 1.5 k 2k bro for these kind of
jobs yet I’ll see it names like 50 pounds both like 50 pounds per watch was
fifty pounds for that whole thing dumped so I was calculating my stuff yet and
eight months in a profit a here in yeah I do my prices stuff set up someone came
to me and asked me yeah could you do a shoot for this brand yeah and I was like
okay cool I asked me like how much to charge I said much about so I’m a real
price I thought about like like I said well I find you quit for example like if
it’s one shoe before yeah sorry about find you quit and that’s that’s just
taking the fall that’s just taking the force and I’ll be like if they want
Eddings behind the behind pants about 600 pounds at all so I see six husbands
and they were like yes too much now with me
I don’t mind negotiating yeah yeah I don’t mind the go she ain’t even in my
even in my religion its teaches negotiate you know I mean so I don’t
mind so oposition came back that says comedy
cures back to me I said yes how much wouldn’t go someone else I was saying it
like okay that’s cool but you know even in terms of conditions it says you can
negotiate the price they read that are you gonna go see the price you can bring
it down I don’t mind yeah but they but some of them for
something that used to call it mean asked me yeah would you do for free
I’ve got I got I got one worse than this whole negotiation one yeah because I’ve
had people literally message me right and go to me how much do you charge
yeah we want to have you on this event how much you charge so clearly you have
a certain budget in place yeah because you’re happily asked and openly asking
me how much I believe I deserve this show yeah yeah yeah and that yourselves
I’m not gonna go into details but I told him how much I believe I deserve for
this performance you’ve asked me to do a 15-minute set here’s how much I believe
I should get paid for a 15-minute set okay I said I brought us to lesbos you
asked me more yeah he told me I shall ask for more in it but like even
afterwards right this organization they go hold on a second
what’s going on I see a poster drop I see a poster drop right after the same
event all my boys run this organizer and I’m like what’s going on no I’m not on
the poster and this person says you were charging too much and I goes hold on a
second I broke it and I said to this person you asked me how much I want for
this event mm-hmm you said it as though you’re willing to
pay me whatever it is I chose to tell you I want for this event obviously I
was reasonable as wine in table milk by the way yeah I didn’t take the mick I
was reasonable yet then now you’re saying to me I’m charging too much so
why in the world in the first place did you ask me how much I want to get paid emails where they go yeah we’ve got this
event on like some some people just come out straight away blah we haven’t got
the budget to pay you but this is what’s going on just let us know if you’re down
I respect that and I’m more likely to perform than not because I like
performing in it see what I’m saying and if it’s an event I like as well I’m more
likely to perform in it you know I’m saying but I like likes it like some
people just say it is or blah our budgets are 200 I was just like this
much we can pay you this much we can pay you travel or we can pay you or we can
feed you ever feed you like little even people some people will say it and like
you get like because you have respect for that you’re more likely to do in it
but certain people don’t even know how to approach you but some people DM me
pop and I’m like yo this is my corn II be like we don’t like like my email with
in capitals like my management emo is in capitals anyway you can book me there
but when you do the DM thing you make it more personal obviously there are some
events right like you can DM me I’m not saying don’t DM me in it but then when
you DME don’t expect to saw everything out on the DMS well yeah we need to sort
everything cut via email because you can delete at the ends and then I have no
proof of whatever has gone on in it like Janelle say so you need to send me
emails you know I’m saying even if like you pull out wherever I still have an
email of it and right and yeah cool brah got my records probably but some people
don’t have to come correct well I’ve had to learn all it is Bo cause I’m not the
business not business savvy in it do you know I mean I’m just I’m learning in it
but yeah I’ve learned to not get taken for yeah someone’s there where they come
to you and they’re like I’ve got a big opportunity and that’s and that’s and
that’s the subject matter subject line on the opportunities you
open the emails that yes so basically I want you to do this that this this this
and that and you’re not getting paid for it but you know you’re gonna get a
little bit of exposure an opportunity an opportunity would be you provide me
overstated and money so then I could go back calling my craft maybe release
video so more people can see me and then get more shows from someone else and
then maybe hopefully one day I can become like a big name a household you
know I’m saying but you telling me I’ll come perform for free you might get
a couple Instagram ads that won’t even interact with your page follow I’m not
interested in follows but I’m interested in in in reach and my mass audience that
interact I mean interested in interaction yeah you know I’m saying if
you follow me on Instagram right now and you don’t interact on follow me please not on it is annoying it’s annoying it’s
annoying seeing the numbers so high and in a look at my post
what are you doing on my page obviously what bearing in mind I know everything
that I post not everyone will like and it will follow you for different things
yeah yeah but the ratio is still off do you know
I’m saying so some of you people need to go away because I need to do my mustard
tea stacks just scroll down my timeline and I’m not liking pictures after a
while I think to myself no I’m walking this person let me just unfollow it’s
not even personable because if I don’t follow I don’t like to see anything yeah
you know I mean I’ll follow my boys because I like to see them people that
follow back that are doing the same thing that I’m doing and I like I like
it I’m not gonna let everything con someone’s page yeah but if you like to
post like one time and you added me and like to post and you’ve become gonna
follow you back like no I’ll follow you fact because I like your page in it yeah
or not follow people who don’t follow me because I like your page and it yes you
know I’m saying so yeah if I don’t like your page and you follow me it’s not
personal it’s my preference mm-hmm it doesn’t mean the rule after that we know
we won’t be Hall do you not mean I have some friends I don’t follow you both
yeah we’re cool with that I see you at a time we’re not following up on Instagram
because there’s no need for courtesy obey some people get emotional but I’ll
see you every day bro like we mean both but use him yesterday you saw you you
was telling like when I pull my phone out and I went on your page and I press
follow I’m not gonna lie gave you a day in it like Yuki you’re busy guy like but
you’re not following my love are done saying to you boo like bro you like you
do you do bear close-ups of your new shoes you’re like your your lighting is
off flat you just you just you you post like a building yeah I’m not into
architecture I’m sorry I’m not into that ball I like
you as a person don’t do this tower it’s cool that is
actually cool bro like if you don’t want to see you don’t want to see like people
that don’t follow me and I see them would it like his cock but one time I
went to an event and that’s what it’s going now hi how are you have no problem
with her I don’t follow her anymore because one
she doesn’t post anything yeah so am i following you for cuz I met you we don’t
so we don’t speak in the DM when we don’t need to be connected like that
yeah yeah unless we do then calm but there’s no reason that I see so I’m
gonna just keep it moving and then I see an event I’m not high
because obviously there’s not animosity in real life
because that’s that’s we do live in rule and I mean we don’t don’t judge life by
Instagram is that your how you your rights
oh yeah follow me on Instagram you unfollowed me off Instagram I’m gonna
stand and explain to you like like it’s not personal it’s not whatever I can
clearly see that that’s how you’re judging life so if you have that mindset
anyway I don’t want to talk to you in it so many people come up to me my DMS yeah
like a lot of people were like oh I’m coming off your Instagram now let me
take your number first of all first of all it’s not an even personal in it we
haven’t got that type of relationship we interact like I don’t know you in it
like it’s not that in it and it’s not personal in it you’re not saying so
that’s why she was upset as well and now is that you know what fair enough you
can’t be upset your ticket number do what how is the day-to-day figured that
would you get up to today um I’m sorry I’m not reported to my parole officer
you know I mean will you been up to like all of these things I forget it if
they’re gonna precursor into more meaningful more depth then cool but more
time than not it’s just down and then yes that was your me to carry this
conversation you started to talk to me with no agenda and now I’m here feeling
like I need to make this conversation work there’s a lot of pressure and I
start getting anxiety I don’t need it nice matte beau like I get like I said
bro I get a lot messages and stuff on Instagram and stuff and a lot of times I
don’t ignore it I just look at him like okay cool and then yeah I bought like
we’ve so many people that mentioned me I like spending time like you said that’s
good to spend time he would message you now one guy one guy mention me don’t
follow though I don’t follow him anything
yeah I few of them that mess follow them because nothing on the page interests me
I like I like pictures that relate to what I’m interested yeah we’ve meet
succumbing to love poetry that’s why I love life earning falling you and Liam
because you guys postponed a I like reading them yeah stuff I’m watching the
videos that you guys post I like enjoy that but there’s sometimes um some
people have like the dumbest things yeah like I don’t in that no interests me
like like I said selfies on their face over every single day is like well I
don’t need look your face every single day like I don’t need to look at that
Joe I mean a cop up in my feed yeah it’s your photos your photos are pretty
laughs I feel like the way that certain to look at what’s the support and I I
like the people that comment on my on my pictures because they actually enjoy
seeing it yeah sure I mean yeah and I put that I I make my phones because I
enjoy photography I like why I do that’s tell you what I
did but you wanna get the messages I got these messages and he get they say like
yo how are you I’m nice but I’m good and they’re like cool
coalition ends like mad you know I haven’t okay
I keep getting this one person that messages hey yeah yeah believe it like a
month and then I’ll be active again and they’re like hey the worst ones like get
what miss measures like hair so you unfollowed me bro I was in Brandis yeah
no I’ll fall it is one person nothing on their page like you said nothing on
their page and even if there was something on the page nothing to benefit
that could benefit me or inspire me or nothing I’m full yeah I know I’m
following me I just want to know why message you got enough on your page and
let you said why I said you love to benefit me I don’t know why I don’t know
I don’t know why I’m falling you have to photos all you have is your DP I find it
funny you know I find it funny Windham send they send those messages because I
used to have this fing right where you could see who unfollowed you and I was
like why the heck God why do I care I got rid of that so it’s like when people
message you in there that why don’t you follow me back
mmm or that expectation you meet someone in person and they’re like please please
please follow me back please please I really I really was there and this
person was adamant I followed him but I really really like you’re working make
sure make sure me don’t worry just follow me off please please make sure
make sure I don’t follow this person back the only exception I linked to that
it’s that people that that have been with me supporting me from yeah yeah
people whether lack what you post or not do you know I’m saying like I like he
was a person so I like what you post in it yes you see what I’m saying it’s not
like it wouldn’t be my norm of what I like but because I like you and I like
the fact that you’re like you supported me and you’re not saying like you’ve had
this love for me and you don’t know me from Adam like you know I’m saying like
I would like obviously follow you because if you message me I want to be
able to see it when it pops up yeah I’m saying and like I appreciate
your support like that in it yeah I’m saying what I agree with that
have it in that yeah man like I’m not I’m not trying to play the Instagram
game I’m not like Jen I’m saying I’m appreciative of all my followers even if
they don’t interact as much or whatever but if they’re supporting in other ways
of like some people can like just don’t they just got Instagram to look they
don’t like and I get that those people exist in it you know I mean so they go
back and then they show people the video and that in itself it’s stuff that I
can’t see that I can’t tell E but I know happens in it man know that but a
majority of them are doing it so this is your spoken podcast and organizations
start paying your eyes it’s time solution focused solution focus this
time you start paying your artists following me and you don’t respond let
brokers pen said don’t don’t follow me anymore
just follow me please like if you’re behind the scenes new you show you my
stuff people like I respect you respect you a lot
wait we’re joined by a broken pen and it’s been an amazing conversation so far
but I want to change course now I want to ask you about headlining just room I
want to ask you how that felt as a personal and that coming from somebody
who is on the outside looking in I want to get in your opinion of the events we
run and how you felt headlining that event and as well I want to know who you
would like to see headlining Knicks headlining Jerome was do a sick bro
flick obviously when you ask me to do is no brain above you know I mean it was
it’s like I get a lot of love from the music Muslim community anyways you know
I’m saying and it was just sick like to see the reception out got yeah everybody
was was daring it like it’s not different but like you know I mean not
like it’s not just fit like this weird thing like I don’t you know I mean
there’s too many stigmas publicus it’s long but this thing was they’re annoying
above like it just separates as long but yeah above like vibes Bob just like like
any other sick event above like you know I mean I’d like on it to a flow tonight
like everyone was mad loving mad receptive you know I’m saying engaged
like that’s why I love card engagement you know I’m saying like
so like that as well love that like two clicks the engagement you know I’m
saying people relate into it like it was there was a good vibe of you know I’m
saying I recommend anyone of any creed color whatever to go down in it like
it’s it’s not so like it’s not a thing that I want to put on a stigma lacus or
just because they were like a number of Muslims there that it’s that’s a thing
in it I mean that wasn’t a thing in it yeah I was just like you know I mean
like obviously I’m mindful of that so I can be respectful
do you know me I have a material that you know I’m saying like like I’m always
get me risque so like men the respect that I’m level but that’s nothing off my
back in it do you know I mean so as an event yeah both top-tier farmers up
daily well having a there was amazing I was
it’s funny I would sit down now sit down says as an admin yet again let people
whenever I let you in a like improvement and Sam was with you and I was like cousin I went with salmon salmon oh yeah
yeah that was yeah that was that was jokes man I remember a name just
annotate we’re gonna come up with that is rolling you like credits filming
stuff and know all you guys the way you like like a pattern you’re ting is its
clockwork Bob like I’ve never seen it read that that smoothly you like roll
out content so quick and the quality that I didn’t everything Casilla when
you like did that flame thing and I posted I’m a baboso much like engagement
which is like what I want definitely definitely it was a very good experience
propanol definitely cocaine bro yeah that’s humbling thing yeah who do
you like to see who died let’s see headline next I like to see Solomon though is it
Atlanta CPA policy Solomon wizard and I would also like to see so many poets
famous Yankee mashenka be sick she gets a three she’s cold and Betsey Beck’s
yeah Universal poets man and maker connected people yeah like from so many
different creeds and different sets service yeah man these people would be
sick to perform never you know we’ve got we’ve got black pen from the desk there
yeah it reminds me of your bar man you got to say that bar for us oh yeah I say
that bar from Iowa I was washing what was whips Walker weld and workers
welcome with warrant well we wonder when we what kind of weapon Angelo oh listen
the first time I heard that borrows right this guy is next I had to ponder
this man in your opinion list free under a poet this is what I’m saying like I
don’t know like how to how to even deem an underrated poet because everything we
all get love in different ways you know I’m saying so but people that I think
should be further than they are yeah I think we’re all underrated as a
seed you’re funny patchy society MTA I’m saying as I seen like I tried I tried a
cheeky tried to get local cheeky 1 million views on a video that I did with
stay spoken any shot to stay spoken he’s doing a lot for us for a community but
like i spoken-word scene or whatever I don’t like to attach myself to scenes
anyway in it but it is why isn’t it but I think as a movement of artful
like there needs to be a lot more and I don’t even think it’s the poet’s behalf
it’s just like the people that come up to us and go oh you’re so sick they need
to invest more in us whether it’s watch our stuff from or send our stuff more
download buy our stuff that it today you need to do that so that we we can then
progress and so that because people follow numbers in it they like oh a lot
of people have watched this let me watch it that’s how you piqued interest in it
that’s just how did the society is there was fickle in it so you know I mean like
why there’s a poet nor get a million views in a flash out to Samuel King he’s
done that janessa and you’re like but that we should be getting him on our own
videos we shouldn’t need to go and like a mad platform said you know I mean we
should post in on like our Instagram or wherever and obviously if it’s off
caliber as well do you know I’m saying it should be getting shared around it
should be going why is it not log sighs why doesn’t it get posted on blog sites
like the percentage of poetry that gets posted on blog sites like meaningful
poetry with a message compared to a video of a fight that happened here in
the video there is this ridiculous book I mean though they did those get
thousands of views while we stay alive hundreds and it’s just yeah
you know I mean it’s I think we’re all underrated in that sense people just
want to be entertainment you see if it’s not even it’s not even entertain it’s
not even entertainment that’s safe adrenaline rush yeah like being a burn
or being a Gina I mean and obviously as terrible humans we fry off of negative
things sometimes and we invest our time so it’d be nice if people invested in
our just keep pushing and keep pushing keep pushing this is the outspoken
podcast people and this is content junkie ie my thinking about today we’re
talking about days out it’s not cool days out good days out no isn’t we’re
not talking about babies day out yeah that came out in like 96 we’re talking
about days gone oh damn it yeah days gone yes remember what I said
in the remember what I said in the early episodes of the podcast people this is
what happens when one person does their research and the other person does not
but you know what I’ve worked because I watched days days gone sorry I’ll come
fro broke yeah you did you man demure babies there may be days that I was a
good movie yeah days gone man yeah days gone is a
zombie zombie action third person game as a shooing shooting game as well and
it’s like playing lost of us combined with Resident Evil combined with like
pasaba zombie game I played man left for dead left with that left foot it was I
mean like it’s like all I combine because left for dead it’s got all the
hordes and stuff that come after you yeah I mean then Wesley Evo is got all
those gimmicky like gimmicky zombie monsters means that they just they just
scary but you’re sitting there but one has like I would like a sledgehammer
attached to his head and oh yeah and then you’ll hear your gun you sure it
was hey no no and then lost of us I feel like when the introduced that whole
clicking was one of my favourite games of the best cannot wait for loves when I
came out on ps3 I was like Bobby’s games I mean about you know what sick yeah
that lost of us game when it came up III didn’t get to have you at the beginning
so I had to trade someone I try someone about one game and like forty quid and
he gave me like four games including lost of us mmm
Joe I mean I was like yep this SOI Dillman that’s some mad by was sick one
so I played that game I played that I finished that game in about a week can I
buy me out a game you could bang out it was so deep I’m so excited I know if
ting on bed last of us just sit game number two is coming out very soon
i’m mateus coming up very soon days gone is it’s different to last of us to
summarize it’s a game and it’s got a similar game played oh yeah I’d say so
but this this game in specific is an action-adventure survival horror video
game that’s how they’ve summarized it it will be
released on the 26th of April is developed by SI e pen studio and
published by sony interactive entertainment it’s only available in
places before so you if you don’t have ps4 yes have been a peak for you the
game is set in a post-apocalyptic open-world played from a third-person
perspective where the player takes control of D consent John a former
outlaw turned drifter the game’s events take place two years after a global
pandemic that kills almost all of humanity while transforming millions of
others into freaker’s which are mindless zombies for me after watching the
trailer I was hooked I was immediately sold
yeah it looks epic it looks like it’s gonna be a ton of fun usually I’m very
big on story I know some people play games and they’re not really too keen on
the story but for me even though I I’m hopeful the story will be good I’m still
gonna get the game regardless because I know it looks like a ton of fun like
running away from these massive woods we’re talking about hundreds and
hundreds of zombies and I’m a big fan of zombie stuff so I mean films and I
really like zombie stuff so I’m definitely intrigued by this game and I
can’t wait for it to come on the 26 I don’t feel all gonna buy it to be honest
but not I don’t like the game the way it looks in the way gameplay is in story or
not I stuff I just think that it’s one of those games that I’ll buy it but
never play it I mean like I’ve bought games well I still have Kingdom was free
that’s that Red Dead for me okay I’ve got Red Dead – I’ve done about 10%
I love Kingdom on a lot that’s that’s my game I played number one to me I played
most of them up number one number two and I played the the side stories as
well yeah John I mean like the side games they have to go to that story but
and I haven’t still finished chemistry which gave my ages ago
I think it’s it’s difficult with the busy nature of life and what we’re
involved in myself and you I do a lot of poetry event management yourself you do
a lot of photography and filming it makes it very hard to just sit back and
chill and be at home and be like okay I’m gonna put my game on cuz obviously
you have to you want to find time for family friends as well so when
can you balance that out and then still find time to play games
it’s really difficult but I mean Dave’s gone looks at the type of game that’s
gonna have me hooked for at least a day that’s probably who the time I’ll get to
play it so at least a day broken pen do you do you play consoles at all gran
turismo taken a I cannae love this guy this guy’s avid on these Tekken game love to I mean by the time that I get to
sit down a wrist still getting still stuff to do is cool a cab like the one
game are always returned to ya cuz I’ll it’s one of those games we can play with
a lot of people it’s call of G yeah I’ll still bang out ecology you know meet on
my bridge is interesting because I don’t like quality never have you know what
you know smart though the reason why I like this cool G is that game
she’s um be there you’re for people with you and you’re just chillin Bob you just
chillin use you’re going through the doors going for the rounds you beast the
star thing we start from the beginning go all the way up always to star like
round five and go all the way up and he just sit and keep going for I feel a
little the was good highest level we went to a probably low 40 and that’s why
I went mad Jeremy and what is usually got the dogs on and stuff like that know
getting chased around it was much that sounds mad I used to just love playing
Fifa with my before I was used to love playing Fifa get then get the guys round
and we just chew on thief oh man we have a competition winner winner stays on
you’re not ready listen beef is only for select few
people and the beauty of FIFA is that when you if you do like it it really
does give you jokes and vibes because you’ll be playing it and you’ll have
this whole competitive nature bias all that winner stays on I need he’s playing
he looks he looks at where he’s playing some let your dead still you know like wow I’ve been to his yard year’s harvest
well I’ve actually played no do you know why this Tim because this guy batters me
at like second I’d be like my hero and only these four games it so I’m like
okay this is the game I’m better than you this is the outspoken podcast people and
it’s that time it’s that time again people what time is it it’s time to make
a statement broken pen where you gonna leave the people with the day just one
piece of something I could just say is just just don’t live with fear just go
just go ahead on with whatever you want with your chest up and and yeah man just
stay focused stay consistent put in a time the time that you put in will be
given back to you will pay off there is a balance to things everything in and
will always balance itself out so as much as as much as there is chaos there
will also still be peace you just have to find a moment here’s everything
happens in moments we’ve hardship comes ease exactly yeah man just stay prayed
up give thanks and yeah man just keep your ambition type of and don’t let no
one tell you that you can’t do it name will you go first
for me would be become more self-aware of who you are because there’s no point
being someone you’re not you have abilities you have like welcome
Fred says you have gifts that you have been blessed with understand what gifts
you have understand what abilities you have and just go with him and if you
like a certain thing like for example you like one of the questions we had
last week was if you don’t know what you’re doing
it aims like we if you don’t know what kind of art you want to do what she go
for and I said try roofing not like spend your time with you when nonsense I
mean find what you first like if you like that if you like that it goes good
then let’s just think for you and then if you don’t like it and move on to the
next thing that’s just it because once you find that thing you enjoy doing you
love doing that’s when you know this is for me whether this poetry was
photography wherever it’s however it’s talking about Dragonball Z for you rest
your life here like go Dragon movie season 1 here under saying understand
that’s just you yet life that’s just you talking about that for the rest of your
life do you love that do it tsunami just do it just be who you are I’m gonna
leave us with something it’s it’s a it’s a sad situation but I think it’s
something that is very very important in terms of giving us a chance to reflect
and essentially a 24 year old individual named Harrison Mercer he was a scholar
and he was an imam he passed away yesterday he was rushed into hospital
due to a brain tumor and a heart attack he was in the service of his sick mother
for the last couple of years and I wanted to read the final post that he
made regarding his mother’s situation a few weeks ago where he said as I said as
I sat next to my mum in the hospital today beside her I overhear a lady
speaking to one of her friends saying I don’t know what happened to my son he
never calls he doesn’t care about me he didn’t even come to visit me at the
hospital he then goes on to say my dear brothers please cherish your parents as
long as they are alive serve them and obtain your ticket to paradise when’s
the last time we called our parents when’s the last time we smiled at our
parents when’s the last time we hugged our parents obtain their happiness
because one day when you finally pick your head up from your phone
they won’t be there anymore I read this with a heavy heart and it made me
reflect I recently lost my own father and I remember the devastation I thought
after that occurred and just feeling as though I wanted to have done more to be
there for him now obviously there were some difficulties involved in the
situation which which meant that I didn’t seem as often as I would have
liked to but you don’t want to be that individual that when your parents pass
away is in a state of regret I don’t understand personally people that don’t
want to be around their parents I don’t understand people that do not go to
visit their parents I cannot imagine not going to see my mom and chilling with my
mom and spending time with my mom it just doesn’t make sense to me
and I’m so happy that God has blessed me with that relationship and my advice to
end this podcast is that you get close with your parents if both of them are
alive isn’t even greater blessing that you you have both parents with you take
your time out to spend with them put them first sometimes rather than just
always thinking about social media or whatever object of entertainment you can
find next these are the people that you know thanks to God brought you into
existence you know your mother gave birth to you
show them appreciation be there for them the way that they deserve and I’m gonna
end it by saying something that the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be
upon him said and he mentioned in a hadith which is a oral tradition that
when he was asked about who should be respective most he replied your mother
he was then asked again who should be respected most after that he replied
once again your mother he was asked a third time who should be respected
mostly given the best treatment he again responded your mother and then after
that he said your father this shows you how important it is to take care of your
mother and regardless of what religion you follow I think we can all come to an
agreement of how important it is to be there for our parents so guys please go
visit your mom go visit your dad spend time with them and appreciate them this
